DWM - Data Warehouse Management

Project Overview
DWM was the second web server built for Vistaprint Deer Park. Before its implementation, the finance department used Jedox to generate and report labor cost calculations. However, the previous system had several drawbacks. For one, data refresh times were slow as jobs ran sequentially. Additionally, managing employee mapping between the production and time attendance systems was challenging. The system was also built before the creation of the Analytics team, which meant that the utilization of global database systems was unknown. Furthermore, changing employee pay rates was a tedious process and was not based on agreed-upon levels as outlined in the EBA. Despite these limitations, DWM provided several useful functions, including a form for uploading and refreshing data with the ability to create, read, update, and delete dimensional tables. It also allowed access to master employee mapping data and generated allocated labor reports that could be filtered by custom date range or group by time, among other fields. Finally, it generated RCTI invoices for agencies and saved the labor hours generated for auditing and reconciliation purposes.
