VPT - Vista Production Tools

VPT was the third web server built for Vistaprint Deer Park. It was created in response to repeated requests that were observed after moving from the Analytics to the Systems Engineer role. It was realized that some of these tasks could be automated into a self-serving web form. VPT allowed users to download production work from the File Share NAS for diagnostics and testing, as well as upload custom PDF/images directly to the printing equipment/office printer. It also enabled users to manage scheduling for First Off Approval/Templates using a cloud service via API and restart approved production services. For IT personnel only, VPT allowed for scheduling of PowerShell scripts, including Work Menu items. And for fun, VPT also included a random generator that allowed users to filter options by distance and price for choosing a lunch location. Using telemetry information, VPT has saved the IT team 5000 tickets per year, allowing them to prioritise other projects and tasks. With VPT deployment, the Engineering team has reduced the time required for planning and testing New Product Introductions from 4 weeks to 2 weeks.
